Introduction 

In order to grow, maintain themselves, and reproduce, living things ingest nutritional components through a process called nutrition. Food serves a variety of functions for the vast majority of living creatures. In order for the organism to perform its many tasks, such as the synthesis of cell components, movement and motility, the excretion of waste materials, and the absorption and translocation of nutrients, it must have the chemicals that are digested to supply the energy needed. Types

They are- 

1. Autotrophic Nutrition

The words auto and tropic, which imply self and nourishment, respectively, are combined to form the term autotrophic nutrition. These creatures possess chlorophyll, a pigment that captures solar energy and is typically green in colour. Through the process of photosynthesis, these organisms create their food from inorganic minerals such as water, carbon dioxide, and mineral salts. For survival, plants convert the dietary components into glucose. The process through which plants produce glucose from water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight is called photosynthesis. The process by which an organism synthesises organic food through chemical reactions is known as chemotropic feeding.

2. Heterotopic Nutrition

Heterotrophic creatures depend on plant or animal sources of food because they are unable to manufacture food on their own. Depending on the sort of food they consume and how they eat, these organisms are divided into three groups. Holozoic organisms obtain the nutrients they need for survival by feeding on plants and animals. Holozoic organisms include herbivorous, omnivorous, and carnivorous species. Symbiotic creatures rely on one another for nutrition. Saprotrophic organisms mostly get their sustenance from dead and decaying materials. But because of their heterotrophic style of nutrition, people mostly rely on fruits, vegetables, and meat to provide them with the vital nutrients their bodies need.

3. Protein 

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, which are molecules. We must have learned about the importance of proteins as building blocks for muscles during our early education. Athletes and bodybuilders use proteins frequently to increase muscle growth and produce hormones and enzymes. Protein is made up of nearly 20 amino acids, of which the body absorbs half from nutrition. Amino acids are necessary for the body to build protein and repair broken proteins. Red meat, eggs, dairy products, almonds, and beans are examples of foods that can give the body high-quality protein.
